TEAM WAYFINDER
THE IMPACT OF OUR PROJECT
THE PROBLEM
Underground terrains present time-sensitive scenarios when first responders are called on duty in a rescue emergency. Scenarios have unstable structures, challenging ground, and communication constraints. This problem has pushed entities such as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to create a subterranean (SubT) challenge to motivate society to find a solution. The successful design solution for the challenge will support rescue teams with the technologies and resources to execute their final mission.
HAWAIIAN ISLANDS
In Hawai'i, the University of Hawaii - West O'ahu plan to use this system to further develop and improve their disaster preparedness plans. Our hope is that future iterations of this system will be used in real-life disaster scenarios to save lives.
